Fasting: Day 4

Pastor shared on Sunday, December 27, from Isaiah 58 and encouraged us to Fast the right way. Verses 6-7 is very clear about we should be doing while we are fasting:

“No, this is the kind of fasting I want:
Free those who are wrongly imprisoned;
lighten the burden of those who work for you.
Let the oppressed go free,
and remove the chains that bind people.
Share your food with the hungry,
and give shelter to the homeless.
Give clothes to those who need them,
and do not hide from relatives who need your help.

I read through these two short verses and ask myself, "How many of these are you doing?"

Look for the opportunities that will present themselves during these 21 Days to help those in need. It may be as simple as buying a burger for someone who is hungry or as personal as sharing your testimony with someone who is hurting. Whatever the case may be, we are instructed in the Word to bring freedom, encouragement and help to those around us.
