Meanwhile... Stand Firm

1 Samuel 2:26: "Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew taller and grew in favor with the lord and with the people."

Samuel, this young man dedicated to the Lord and working for the Lord, is in the middle of some junk. There is nasty wrong doing going on around him. Adultery, cheating, stealing... The sons of Eli are not obeying God and are doing whatever pleases them. They are taking advantage of people. I imagine the temple spiritually feels like a brothel. God's judgement is coming because of the wickedness that is openly practiced.

BUT BUT BUT... In the midst of all that awfulness, in the middle of the debauchery and fornication... The Bible says that Samuel grew in favor with God and people.

It is possible in this day and age, when the world calls wrong right and right is wrong... where one touch of a button can take you pornography, death, destruction... in a day and age where everything is permissible-everything expect serving the Lord... It is possible that today we can still stand for God. We can still grow in the knowledge of the Lord.

Just like Samuel, no matter how dark and deteriorated our world has become, we can stand and not waiver.

Do not be dismayed. Do not quit. Do not stop. You are called to be in this generation. You are called to stand. You are called to shine bright.
